EastEnders fans in hysterics at Michelle Fowler blunder – but did you spot it?

Viewers joked the soap world might have its very first crossover

MICHELLE Fowler's emotional exit in last night's EastEnders left more viewers laughing than crying.

Soap fans couldn't help but giggle after Michelle told friend Sharon that she was off to go and see her kids - though watchers were well aware that her son Mark Fowler Jr., played by Ned Porteous,  is currently starring in rival soap Emmerdale.

Watchers joked that Michelle (Jenna Russell) didn't have to leave the Britain to visit Mark, she could just "pop up to Yorkshire for a pint in the Woolpack pub".

What's more, viewers were also quick to point out that Michelle only visited daughter - who has relocated to Australia - a few months back.

One viewer mocked: " Jenna Russell's exit storyline is absolutely atrocious - Michelle'ss gonna pop up to Yorkshire to see Mark in Emmerdale and then go back to Australia to see Vicky who she supposedly last saw 3 months ago."

Another teased: "Michelle's going to see mark and Vicki , I guess she will be staying at home farm and popping to the woolpack for a pint ..."

"Michelle only needs to nip up north to see Mark seeing as he's in now... Would have loved to see more of the Michelle/Grant/Mark storyline ." a third quipped.

Actor Ned played Mark Fowler Jr briefly back in 2016, in which time he revealed that he doesn't speak to his mum Michelle - who returned to Walford a few months later.

But it seems that isn't going to deter Michelle, who made no mention of the fact she and her son no longer speak when she announced she was leaving to visit him.

Though fans struggled to invest in her exit, as Ned now plays vengeful millionaire Joe Tate in Emmerdale.

Joe has been at the centre of some of the soap's most explosive storylines since he joined in 2017, wreaking havoc on the Dingle family, so it's unlikely he'll return to EastEnders anytime soon.

Still, some fans suggested that actress Jenna made the move up to the Yorkshire Dales, as one joked: "“@bbceastenders @emmerdale @jennarusselluk perhaps #Michellefowler could dye her hair and now be the new #ZoeTate :) I just got used to Michelle too :(."
