Chilean hitman spends so much time on extra training that most of the United stars have left by the time he has showered
ALEXIS SANCHEZ eats alone at the Manchester United training ground because he is spending so much time on extra training.
That's the inside word from Old Trafford after the former Arsenal ace set tongues wagging with his reclusive behaviour.
It has been suggested that Sanchez cuts an unhappy and isolated figure at the Aon Training Complex and has lunch on his own in the canteen.
But it seems the Chilean attacker is putting extra work after the main group training stint.
And by the time he collects his food, many of the United stars have already hit the road.
The Daily Star reports a club source as saying:

"There is an explanation for Sanchez eating alone at Carrington.
"He regularly does an extra 30 minutes working on free-kicks and shooting after the main session has finished up.

"By the time he has showered and changed, the majority of his team-mates have finished eating and gone."
Sanchez, 29, admits he has struggled since trading places with Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January, scoring just once in 10 appearances.
He said: "Seeing as I demand a lot of myself, I expected something better.
"After my arrival at United, it was hard to change everything very quickly. I even hesitated to come here [to Sweden, with the national team].

"I had asked permission to miss these games and stay in England, but then I thought better and spoke with Claudio [Bravo] and told him that we should all be united."
Sanchez played all 90 minutes for Chile on Saturday as he attempted to put his United troubles behind him.
The United star had a hand in both goals as the South American side edged past Sweden 2-1.
