Hero dad given £750 bravery award after saving woman from violent kidnap in his pants
Selfless Andrew Paxton was handed a £750 bravery award after saving the bloodied woman being bundled in the back of a van by thug Steven Anderson
A HERO saved a woman from being kidnapped — wearing just his pants.
Andrew Paxton, 39, was woken up by “screams of panic” in the street.
He had no time to dress so leapt from his ground-floor bedroom window in his boxer shorts.
He saw the victim being battered by thug Steven Anderson, 58, who was trying to bundle her into a van.
Andrew, of Shepperton, Surrey, thumped Anderson and knocked out a couple of his teeth.
He joked: “He came across the wrong man in boxers.”
Reliving the ordeal he said: "I was lying in bed with my son and my partner and I heard a very very loud bellowing.
"It was panic, 'please help, please help, he's trying to kill me'.
"I jumped out of the bedroom window on to the street and ran to where it was coming from.
"It was like instinct. I didn't even have enough time to open the front door.
"I didn't even have a pair of socks or shoes on.
"What I heard was sheer panic.
"You can hear a girl scream but when you hear a scream of panic like that - I never heard it before and I hope I never do again."
"I saw a Transit van with the engine still running and then see a man on top of this lady, punching her repeatedly in the head.
"Her face was heavily covered in blood so I dragged him off her and punched him a few times to the head.
"I gave him one more in the face and that's when he lost a tooth which was nice."
The victim, who wished to remain nameless said: "He couldn't care less about what happened to himself as long as he saved me.
