WOMEN everywhere are all too familiar with the joy that comes with taking off their bra after a long day.
But, what if things could be A LOT comfier, without looking frumpy?
More and more wireless bras are popping up on the high street and, while a wire-free option may conjure up images of training bras or your grandma’s undies, retailers are battling to make their non-wired bras look a viably sexy option, as well as perfect for everyday wear.
So, just how comfy and supportive can these bras be?
We tried out five 34D options from the high street and gave them a 'bounce' test to see how they would fare under even the most 'jumpy' of situations…
Victoria’s Secret
This bra was my favourite out of the bunch on first sight – I liked the material, the colour was pretty and I am already a fan when it comes to Victoria’s Secret bras.
Once on, this bra is seriously comfy and I could definitely see myself wearing it every day, without complaint.
When it came to the bounce test, this bra wasn’t too bad – it held me in place and didn’t feel awful, but that being said, I wouldn’t make a habit of bouncing anywhere without a sports bra.

Gap
This bra looked really pretty and not frumpy at all, but it just didn’t have the comfort factor of the other bras – the band didn’t feel as soft or stretchy and it slightly dug in.
While I could wear this day-to-day, I would definitely make sure not to run anywhere – when it came to the bounce test I thought I might flash at any minute!

Uniqlo
This bra was a lovely colour but, from the off, it was the least supportive of the bunch and it gave a bit of a dowdy shape.
It felt much more roomy than the others and, as the band wasn’t adjustable, there wasn’t much that could be done about this.
Needless to say, this mean I felt very unsupported when it came to bouncing around on the trampette – I wouldn’t advise much more than resting in this one.

Debenhams
This bra gave a lovely shape and was seriously comfortable – especially as it has no clasps at the back.
I could wear this on a daily basis quite happily, but the extra padding became a worry when it came to jumping about.
While the extra “boost” looks great while standing still or lounging around, I felt like the padded bottom of each cup could send my boobs upward and “out” at any moment.

M&S
Marks and Spencer have long been a trusted brand when it comes to undies.
However, this lace trimmed option did evoke memories of “granny bras” in my mind – despite the bright citrus colour.
I found the band came up surprisingly small compared to the other bras and this did affect how comfortable it was.
I wasn’t too keen on the shape of the cup either – it gave a bit of a squashed boob effect.
Jump test wise it wasn’t great either and I did think I might flash a bit too much in this one.
Personally, I wouldn’t go for this bra for everyday wear – it did nothing for my shape and I just didn’t feel right in it.

Verdict
All in all, some of the bras were really comfort and I would feel “safe” in them for everyday wear – particularly the Victoria’s Secret and Debenhams bras.
That being said, while the above bras did hold their own, I wouldn’t recommend doing anything too strenuous in them – that’s what sports bras are for.
