The one fashion rule that Kate Middleton will have to follow at the Royal Wedding
The royal household is no stranger to weird and wacky rules, and there is one in the regal dress code that we can expect Kate to follow on May 19
THE royal wedding is just weeks away, and needless to say, we are all getting pretty excited.
Although most of us sadly haven't bagged an invite, Prince Harry's sister in law Kate Middleton will certainly be attending, so will be planning her (no doubt) glamorous outfit - but there is one rule she must follow.
According the Evening Standard, royal etiquette dictates that all women in the family must wear a hat on the big day.
This will obviously include the Queen, Camilla Parker-Bowles and Princess Anne as well, but will also include Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland.
It is thought that the rule originated from the church, where St Paul says in the bible: “I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.
“Every many who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven.”
As the wedding is a religious occasion, it may be insisted that the women should therefore be wearing a hat for that reason.
Kate Middleton is undoubtedly one of the most stylish women in the world, so we can imagine her donning a pretty glamorous hat for the ceremony.
At least we don't have to wait to see what ensemble she puts together, as May 19 is getting closer and closer.
