Baby Centre has released a list of the top 20 baby names for girls and boys so far this year and some are shooting up the rankings
IT’S not easy picking a name for your child, particularly as monikers tend to go in and out of fashion very quickly.
To help you with your decision, the most popular baby names of the year so far have been released and the leading choices are adorable.
The most popular girls' names of 2018 so far are Emma, Olivia and Ava, in that order.
Emma, meaning “whole” or “universe”, is no doubt popular thanks to the likes of Harry Potter star Emma Watson, and actresses Emma Stone and Emma Thompson.
Meanwhile Olivia, from “olive tree”, and Ava meaning “bird”, popularised by actress Ava Gardner, also remain favourites from last year.
In 2018, Isabella has risen in the ranks from fifth place, overtaking Sophia which was fourth last year.
