DEAR DEIDRE: MY boyfriend has loving parents, a lovely big brother and a nice stable home. He has all the things that I want and I’m jealous of him.
My big brother died when I was just ten and I’ve never got over it. My mum turned to drink and was emotionally abusive to me.
She split up from my dad and he found someone new with a daughter he clearly likes much better than me.
I’m now 21. I had such a rubbish childhood but I’ve managed to get a good job and I rent a nice flat.
My boyfriend is great and I try not to show that I’m jealous of him but he seems to find everything easy, whether it’s meeting new people or passing exams.
I’m feeling so low and I’m worried he’ll leave.
