I’m haunted by my violent ex girlfriend

DEAR DEIDRE: MY ex-girlfriend was violent and I cannot forgive the friends who abandoned me when I needed them most.

I am 28 and she was 24. She was beautiful and seemed really sweet but I soon found out her temper was something else.

I grew to be terrified of her lashing out at me for the least little thing.

I had a black eye one time but a couple of friends chose to believe her version of how I came by it.

She said I walked into the door.

Another time I called a mate asking if I could spend the night at his and he accused me of being drunk.
